An event location with tradition
Located in the heart of Berlin Kreuzberg and part of one of the district's centrepieces: the Marktlokal, the restaurant of Markthalle Neun, which opened its doors for the first time in 1893. Today's wooden panelling in the dining room dates back to the first day. The traditional restaurant also became famous in German literature and film history as the setting in the novel "Herr Lehmann" by Sven Regener. As in the film, the restaurant also impresses in reality with its more than 10-metre-long bar, high ceilings and large windows. In warm weather, the wide and quiet pavement can be used; in summer, the sun warms up from 2 p.m. and invites you to linger.
Restaurant, bar and event location in Berlin Kreuzberg
A club cellar belongs to the restaurant. Formerly known as a concert venue, the brick vaulted cellar with cloakroom, smoking room, bar and stage is now rented out for events - either separately or together with the restaurant. The Marktlokal thus offers almost limitless possibilities in the realisation of a Christmas party, a corporate event, a wedding, a PR & marketing event, a photo and film production, a dinner event, a summer party or private celebrations.
