In Herten, in the middle of the Ruhr area between Essen and Dortmund, the historic Ewald colliery offers a particularly charming setting as a modern event location. Once the most productive colliery in the Ruhr area, an exciting change has taken place since its closure in 2000: the striking industrial architecture from various eras with its expressive winding tower is now an attractive event location and one of the top locations in the region.

Each of the three event spots of the former coal mine has its own charisma. The former Schwarzkaue, with room for up to 1,000 guests, has original baskets hanging under the ceiling and is a vivid reminder of the times when miners literally hung up their work clothes here. The adjacent wage hall, in neoclassical form, was the significant core that still leaves this impression. And the charming, two-storey machine hall south has already established itself as a popular multifunctional event space and convinces with its unique, powerful atmosphere.
