Altes Stadthaus

Over the years, the building was home to many prominent residents and owners, mostly mayors and councillors of the city of Cottbus. By the early 19th century, the property was no longer used solely for hospitality purposes, but also for cultural events. At the ‘Goldenen Ring’ hotel – as it was known at the time – plays were now staged, until a theatre auditorium was finally built in 1854. This was expanded in 1891 using fittings from the demolished Viktoria Theatre in Berlin. Today, the Alte Stadthaus, with its historic auditorium, offers the perfect venue for any kind of event!

Whether it’s cabaret and comedy, concerts and variety shows, conferences and congresses, TV programmes and recordings, corporate events, weddings, anniversaries or Christmas parties, Cottbus’s former and first theatre hall offers a unique setting for your events!
