What steps does the venue take to improve sustainability?
Sustainability at boneo FARM
Regional & seasonal: We prioritise fresh, locally sourced produce and tailor our catering to the current season.
Organic & Fairtrade: Whenever possible, we choose organic ingredients and Fairtrade products for our menus.
Preventing food waste: Through careful planning and creative use of leftovers, we ensure that every dish is put to good use.
Energy-efficient equipment: Our lighting is energy-efficient and sustainable.
Green electricity & renewable energy: We source our electricity from sustainable sources and are constantly exploring further energy-saving measures.
Water conservation: Mindful use of water in catering, cleaning and garden maintenance (6,000-litre IBC tanks – rainwater / irrigation system)
Reusable equipment: Crockery, cutlery, glasses and decorations are reused multiple times to minimise waste.
Sustainable materials: We use wood, fabric covers, recyclable packaging and paper made from recycled materials.
Waste separation & recycling: We provide clearly marked stations for guests and staff to sort waste effectively.
Environmentally friendly travel: Information on public transport and cycle racks to reduce our carbon footprint.
Transparent communication: We openly share our sustainability measures with guests, partners and on social media to highlight our commitment.
