The gatehouse, completed in 1829, is now home to the ‘Altes Standesamt’ event venue. The venue is known to many Dresden residents as the ‘old registry office’, as it housed the Dresden Registry Office from 1945 to 1994. Many Dresden marriages were solemnised here.
Following extensive refurbishment and conversion into a state-of-the-art, club-style event venue, guests have been able to celebrate here in a sophisticated setting since 2015.
Whether in a laid-back club atmosphere or a classic banquet setting, the possibilities here are extremely varied and leave virtually nothing to be desired.
The Alte Standesamt is equipped with a state-of-the-art sound system. A total of just under 35,000 watts from concert-grade Yamaha active speakers ensure that nothing is left to be desired in terms of sound reinforcement. The sound can be distributed either uniformly throughout the entire venue or separately to the ground floor and basement. On the main floor, the DJ can stand almost anywhere, or a band can be mixed directly into the system via a stage box using up to 32 audio-in channels. The lounge in the basement is also equipped with a DJ desk, which is located directly in the bar and, of course, features a separate mixing desk. On the main floor, a 3.20m by 1.92m LED wall offers the possibility of displaying images, videos, films or PowerPoint presentations. In the lounge in the basement, there is a large monitor concealed behind wall panelling, which can also be used for all presentation purposes. The entire building is fitted with stage-quality LED lighting, which is software-controlled and leaves nothing to be desired. From atmospheric ambient lighting to moving lights for the stage or a party, there are no limits to what you can achieve. On request, we can even programme a light show created especially for you.
We use regional and sustainable produce and always give it priority.
Rentals outside the listed hours are possible by arrangement.
