The lovingly restored yet authentically rustic banquet barn is situated in the heart of the listed grounds of the Helmstorf Estate, in the immediate vicinity of the small town of Lütjenburg in the district of Plön. The two available halls, measuring 220 and 560 square metres, can accommodate up to 100 and up to 180 people respectively. The 300-year-old timber beams impress every guest whilst exuding a warm, cosy atmosphere, making it the perfect venue for celebrations of all kinds. Permanently fitted toilets are located directly within the building. There is ample and conveniently installed electricity for catering and technical equipment. Helmstorf became renowned as a wedding venue, but has also been successfully used for film and television productions, as a stop on classic car rallies, for trade fairs, and booked by companies for staff parties or team-building events.
For wedding parties, the park – which covers a good 1 hectare and is also a listed site – is available on request directly behind the barn for outdoor wedding ceremonies, receptions, children’s games, photo shoots and more. Each bridal couple can choose their own favourite spot for their wedding ceremony and enjoy an intimate, private setting there with their guests. In the event of bad weather, as an alternative to the park, the second hall of the banquet barn is always available to couples at the same price and has frequently proved its worth without the couples having to compromise.
There is ample parking available for events directly on the estate grounds.
Right next to the banquet barn, in the 17th-century manor house, up to four people can sleep in the wedding suite in truly stately comfort and relax there immediately after the celebrations.
For all events, a well-coordinated team of local partners in all areas – including catering, organisation, floristry, decoration, furnishings, DJs/music, technical support, speakers and much more – is on hand to provide experienced and tried-and-tested support, with no commission charged.
In Helmstorf, you’ll be looked after personally by the owners. This direct line of communication is important to us! So: a very warm welcome!
