Grand Hall Zollverein
The Grand Hall Zollverein is one of Germany’s most modern event venues, combining exceptional industrial architecture with state-of-the-art event facilities. Situated at the Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage Site in Essen, the former suction and compressor hall of the Zollverein coking plant offers the perfect setting for events of all sizes.
This impressive venue comprises around 4,000 m² of event space and is divided into three areas, all of which are fully accessible. Thanks to its multifunctional layout, the Grand Hall Zollverein is equally suited to trade fairs, congresses, conferences, annual general meetings, seminars and corporate events.

The Grand Hall Zollverein is fully air-conditioned, flooded with natural light and can be completely darkened at the touch of a button if required. Furthermore, the venue is firmly committed to sustainability: its energy supply comes from green electricity generated from 100 per cent renewable sources, whilst a modern underfloor heating system, powered by efficiently generated district heating, ensures a comfortable indoor climate whilst keeping CO₂ emissions to a minimum.

What steps does the venue take to improve sustainability?
Electricity, water and district heating for the Grand Hall are supplied by local utility companies. All meter readings and consumption figures are continuously monitored and recorded digitally in order to identify and capitalise on potential savings quickly and efficiently. Energy consumption can be recorded in real time for each event and analysed on a consumption-specific basis.
