The Heilgarten is located in a beautiful clearing in the forest of Altonaer Volkspark - in the middle of Hamburg, surrounded by greenery: a species-rich forest garden exclusively for nature and health-related workshops, team days, retreats, small celebrations or creative time-outs.

Sustainability
What sustainability initiatives does the venue implement?
The healing garden is a place of learning and encounter that is orientated towards the common good and actively contributes to ecological transformation: We cultivate a species-rich, edible urban forest garden that promotes biodiversity and makes it possible to experience natural urban greenery. With many native wild and medicinal plants, we create habitats for insects, birds and other animals - with a variety of nesting sites, from birdhouses and bat boxes to dead wood and piles of stones. Through regular courses and team activities, we promote above all a sensory-emotional relationship with nature - as a basis for more climate-friendly behaviour in everyday life. The unsealing of large areas of the former depot by the district of Altona strengthens the microclimate and creates space for regeneration - both ecologically and socially.
