The Herzogssaal, the core of which dates back to the Early Middle Ages, was redesigned by the House of Wittelsbach around 1220 and has been preserved to this day. With a floor plan measuring 10 by 20 metres, its column-free design and a ceiling height of almost 5 metres, it is a truly monumental space.
