The Feine Privathotel Die Sonne Frankenberg is situated in North Hesse, not far from the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park. 63 rooms and suites, two restaurants, two meeting rooms with natural light and, in some cases, a terrace, free parking and modern conference facilities are available for your event. Our boardroom, which accommodates up to 18 people, and our small group room, which accommodates up to 4 people, are ideal as meeting rooms. Both rooms benefit from natural light, and the small group room also features a meeting terrace. The culinary diversity of our hotel is reflected in Philipp Soldan – North Hesse’s only Michelin-starred restaurant – and the SonneStuben. Both restaurants are characterised by lightness, transparency, regional ingredients and sustainability. At the Michelin-starred restaurant Philipp Soldan, exclusive cookery courses can also be organised for companies, amongst other things.

Sustainability
What steps does the venue take to improve sustainability?
We are certified under the Viabono sustainability programme. We are also a partner of the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park and have an in-house sustainability programme. For example, when our guests opt out of room cleaning or take part in activities in the surrounding area, they help to ‘collect’ trees, which are then planted in Germany or elsewhere in Europe. Our products come from local and regional partners and suppliers, and some are produced in-house. We also avoid single-use packaging, for example at breakfast.
