Whilst down in the valley, Stolberg’s medieval half-timbered streets nestle in the valley of the Thyra and the Schmale Lude, the Freiwerk stands high up on the Thyrahöhe.

Weddings

The half-timbered town of Stolberg offers a truly picture-perfect backdrop for weddings: bridal couples are chauffeured through the streets in a historic wedding carriage or stagecoach. Couples exchange their vows in the town hall, a magnificent 15th-century half-timbered building that harbours an architectural secret. Weddings in the Red Salon of Stolberg Castle or in the castle chapel also have their own very special charm. Celebrate the start of your life together in a special setting – far away from the stress and hustle and bustle.

Seminars & Conferences

Surrounded by greenery, your thoughts can flow freely: for small conferences, workshops, meetings and seminars, the FreiWerk offers the perfect setting and an atmosphere in which participants feel at ease. Our conference room is suitable for events with up to 16 people and is, of course, equipped with modern communication technology. Because the wider experience is just as important as the conference itself, we’ll put together supporting programmes tailored to your wishes, organise barbecue evenings, outdoor activities, theatre visits, and guided tours of the town or museums.
