In the middle of the Sierningtal valley, about 70 km south of Vienna, nestled in a spacious grassland park lies hidden a gem of architectural architecture: a villa widely attributed to the Ringstrasse architect Theophil Hansen (1813-1891) and dating from the second half of the 19th century. Architectural historian Dr. Mario Schwarz has described the villa as a "magnificent building with remarkable elements of metropolitan Wilhelminian architecture and Heimatstil." Located in the small village of St. Johann am Steinfeld, the property is entwined with eventful biographies.
