KWB im Stadtpalais - Treat yourself to culinary delights in this extraordinary location!
Initiated by a private donation from the Vorster family in 1914, the Kaiser-Wilhelm Bad opened with an adjoining public library.
Initially used as a military bathing establishment, from 1947 it was available to the people of Cologne as the Deutz-Kalker Bad and public bathing establishment.
Until its closure in 1996, school swimming and DLRG courses were held here and swimming clubs had their home here.
Between 2008 and 2010, the historic complex was remodelled into the 4-star Hotel Stadtpalais with an extension and reopened in May 2010.
The lobby area is now home to Bio's Bar, named after Dr Alfred Biolek.
Following extensive refurbishment in line with strict conservation requirements, the former Kaiser-Wilhelm Bad opened its doors as the KWB restaurant in the Stadtpalais in autumn 2019. A combination of historical tradition and modern architecture with a direct connection to the 4-star Hotel Stadtpalais, which was officially certified as a "Certified Green Hotel" in March 2024 as a sustainable and forward-looking business.
This extraordinary location is now available to guests as a restaurant, bar or for celebrations and events for up to 350 people.
Thanks to its prime location in Cologne-Deutz, directly opposite the LanxessArena and not far from the exhibition centre, the venue has excellent transport links.
A variety of fresh and regional dishes are on offer, complemented by a wide range of corresponding drinks. Of course, the team is happy to cater for individual requests.
Our Hotel Stadtpalais has been a Certified Green Hotel since March 2024 and has been honoured with the Certified Star Award in the category "Most popular Certified Green Hotel up to 150 rooms".
