What steps does the venue take to improve sustainability?
Reuse of historic buildings: The buildings on the former Sulzer site will be reused rather than demolished and rebuilt. This conserves resources, reduces waste and minimises the energy and material flows required for new construction.
Social diversity & participation: The site serves as a vibrant meeting place for a diverse range of social groups and, through its open-access use, promotes equal opportunities and networking within the neighbourhood. As a venue, the bar contributes to the neighbourhood’s culture and integration.
Support for local initiatives and culture: Cultural and creative enterprises are given priority – the Labuesch Bar itself is closely linked to art and culture (Eisenkunstgalerie, shows, events), which contributes to the sustainable development of the neighbourhood.
