What steps does the venue take to improve sustainability?
Our approach
The entire mainhaus Stadthotel team works continuously, with great creativity and passion, to identify and implement sustainable business objectives. This naturally includes:

✓ usingbiodegradable cleaning and laundry products
✓ Change bed linen and towels during your stay only on request
✓ Usewater-saving buttons
✓ Useonly recycled paper bearing the EU Ecolabel and FSC label
✓ Continuously reducepaper consumption by digitising our documents
✓ Offer bike hire (by prior booking)
✓ Usegreen electricity and also operate our own CHP plant (combined heat and power plant) for energy production
Biodiversity – our mainhaus bees
Since April 2020, we have had our own mainhaus bees, which produce the honey for our guests’ breakfast.
Regional, organic, delicious: the restaurant
Our extensive breakfast buffet features Fair Trade coffee specialities from GEPA,organic teas from ChariTea, organic egg dishes, our own mainhaus honey, rolls and speciality breads from Kröger’s Brötchen in Frankfurt, a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes, as well as various milk alternatives and organic juices.
To combat food waste, we focus on a small but exquisite selection of dishes in our à la carte restaurant. To this end, we source our food mainly from regional suppliers and farmers.
We also work with Too Good To Go to curb climate-damaging waste caused by overproduction of food.
