Schloss Braunfels

Braunfels is a particularly beautiful place. With its medieval church, the castle provides a wonderful setting for a romantic wedding – and it is also a popular film location. You can have a proper celebration at the idyllically situated Forsthaus am Tiergarten.

It’s tucked away on the outskirts of the village and is an insider’s tip for young and old alike. Here you can relax and unwind – or throw a huge party in the ballroom. We recently carried out a thorough renovation and modernisation of the entire estate, and re-inaugurated the hall with a lavish wedding reception. Now, events (for up to 150 guests) can once again be held here.

This special venue is simply perfect for celebrations. Surrounded by green meadows and ancient trees, you and your guests will have the place all to yourselves; the nearest (friendly) neighbours are some distance away, so you can celebrate a little longer here without a care in the world. It’s easy to imagine holding a reception before the party in the pretty square in front of the forester’s lodge. Inside, depending on how the tables are arranged, there’s space for up to 150 guests. In the kitchen, which has also been recently renovated, the caterer will find everything they need to serve up delicious food. The DJ, for whom a small stage is provided, will also be delighted to find all the necessary facilities for music and atmospheric lighting.


Incidentally, the zoo itself is open daily, and entry is free.
