The centrally located beach at the bathing lake has been appreciated by old and young for many generations. Directly next to the listed main building is an old avenue that borders our extensive green spaces. Especially in the low season we would like to make this unused space available to all who are looking for a quiet place here.

In the middle of the main building a wide staircase made of granite leads up to the actual shore level. To the left and right of the stairs are vaulted buildings with sanitary facilities, lounges and catering under a slate-covered conical roof. Next to them, retaining walls separate the bank from the meadows, and terraces are attached to the retaining walls. On the northern and southern shores of the beach there are smaller tower-like pavilions, which house a kiosk on the lower floor and an outdoor seating area with a view of the lake on the upper floor. Above this is also a slate-roofed conical roof.

The present site was created in the 1920s. Together with the creation of the Volkspark Rehberge, Wedding, which until then had hardly been developed, was to be redesigned as a leisure area for the workers living in Wedding. Plans for the construction of a public bath began in 1922. The construction of the bath as well as the redesign of the area took several years. The opening took place, on a building site, as early as 1923. Soon after the opening, up to 10,000 visitors a day came during the summer months. At peak times, the number of visitors to the baths rose to 30,000 to 40,000 visitors a day. Completion of the baths took place from 1926 to 1928. Originally, the baths included a 100-metre track in the water and a ten-metre diving tower, but neither survived the Second World War. After the war, a new 100-metre lane, a 50-metre lane and two 25-metre pools and a 5-metre diving tower were built by 1951, of which there is no trace today either. By 1955, a large water slide and three-meter boards were added.
