Atmosphere

A cosy atmosphere, hearty food, stylish décor – situated in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg, the Chagall has everything your heart desires.

Founded as a bar in 1992, we have witnessed Berlin’s dramatic transformation over the past few decades. The Chagall has changed too, yet we have retained the bohemian charm and unpretentious ease of old Berlin.

The Chagall is housed in a turn-of-the-century building, spread over two floors with six rooms, and has something to offer for every occasion. Spend a late autumn evening by the fireside in one of our cosy bars, enjoy a summer sunset on our terrace, or dine in style in our restaurant areas.

Food

​Chagall’s lovingly curated menu, with its Eastern European flair, offers Russian and international delicacies made from fresh and carefully selected ingredients. Do pop in for a generous portion of pelmeni, try our borscht – approved by grandma herself – and savour the delicate Russian quark pancakes with homemade jam.

As well as an extensive evening menu, we also offer breakfast to start your day in style, and a varied lunch menu on weekdays.

Culture

We’ve been part of Berlin’s vibrant cultural scene since the 1990s, and we’re still fascinated by what the city has to offer. We regularly organise live concerts and performances – come and join us.
