The Stober Estate near Berlin is a place steeped in history and character. Over 150 years ago, it was a creative hub for visionary industrial pioneers; more than 80 years ago, it served as a sanctuary for the Kreisau Circle – today, it is an inspiring venue for management teams, companies and networks.
With 300 individual hotel rooms (430 beds) and 30 distinctive function rooms, the estate offers space for conferences, off-site meetings, coaching sessions and events. The meeting spaces range from 27 to 597 m², with indoor facilities accommodating up to 750 guests and outdoor spaces up to 4,000. Many of the function rooms offer lake views, and most are wheelchair accessible. The August function room is even accessible by car.
Situated directly on Lake Groß Behnitz, the estate includes a historic park and 12,000 m² of outdoor space – ideal for social gatherings, supporting programmes and gaining new perspectives.
We also implement specific measures in our day-to-day operations: a photovoltaic system, two on-site wood chip heating systems and a 400 m³ rainwater storage tank for 363 toilets. In addition, we have an externally verified ECOnGood score of 768 points and Sustainable Berlin LEADER certification in accordance with GSTC criteria.
Our 300 rooms combine a loft-style ambience with natural materials, COCO-MAT beds and organic bed linen. The day begins with our organic breakfast (Bioland).

What steps does the venue take to improve sustainability?
At the Stober estate, we have been implementing specific measures in the areas of energy supply, water use, materials and corporate management for many years.
A photovoltaic system generates electricity on site. Two wood chip heating systems, each with a heating capacity of 500 kW, supply the estate with heat. A rainwater storage tank with a capacity of 400 m³ supplies 363 toilets, thereby reducing the consumption of fresh water.
We also use natural and renewable materials in the furnishings of our 300 hotel rooms: These include COCO-MAT beds made from natural materials, organic bed linen (GOTS & OEKO-TEX), carpets made from maize fibres, and materials such as natural wood, rubber, seagrass and coconut fibre. Our organic breakfast is Bioland-certified.
Our initiatives and business practices have been externally assessed and recognised on several occasions. These include an externally verified ECOnGood score of 768 points, the European Green Hotelier Award 2017, the European Green Award 2021 and the Sustainable Berlin LEADER certification in accordance with GSTC criteria.
The distribution of our profits is also clearly regulated: 20 per cent goes to social projects, 20 per cent to staff, 40 per cent is reinvested in maintenance and further development, and 10 per cent is used to pay off debt.
