Don’t just call him ‘Kinsky’
The palace actually bears the beautiful name ‘Daun-Kinsky’, after its builder – Field Marshal Wirich Philipp Laurenz, Count of and to Daun, Prince of Thiano. He had this magnificent Baroque palace built by the famous master Lucas von Hildebrandt between 1713 and 1719. It features extraordinary stucco decoration by Alberto Camesina, as well as breathtaking frescoes by Carlo Innocenzo Carlone and Marcantonio Chiarini.
The Palais Daun-Kinsky is Vienna’s most elegant venue for opulent parties and celebrations. After all, a wedding, christening, birthday, awards ceremony, conference or glamorous event calls for an architectural setting that more than lives up to the occasion. And all this right in the heart of Vienna, on Freyung, with a view of the Schottenkirche.
